The provenance of this collection stems from my lifelong love affair with Victorian jewellery. The intricacy of the craftsmanship is something to behold. Whilst browsing antique markets, I kept finding these perfect little tie pins, some dating back as far as the 1840s. I was inspired to find a way of wearing them in a more practical form than their now-outdated intended use.
I teamed up with jeweller Sian Evans, who helped me bring my vision to life. Sympathetically deconstructing these antiques and reimagining them as necklaces and earrings, using 9k gold chains and handmade fixings to create a small collection of one of a kind pieces.
And so, our little pin s had been up cycled into modern expressions of themselves. All that was left was to name them. What better place to start than by honouring the Pin Up ladies of years gone by.
